We'd helped Julie Balassa get immediate access to Scientific Notebook to meet a deadline, and Emailed to check she was now up and running. She'd replied saying:

Yes please thank your terrific customer service for all their help and thanks to you too for the quick response.
When we asked for permission to use her quote on this page, she Emailed more fully:

A few years ago when I took over responsibility for alternate format production at a major community college, I discovered that algebra classes were often waived for students who are blind because it seemed inconceivable that students could access math textbooks and course materials without sight. I therefore started to research methods of producing accessible math and soon discovered Scientific Notebook at the suggestion of a colleague who trains alt format producers around the country. Scientific Notebook is ridiculously simple to use. My student workers have learned how to use it with minimal training. We have produced a great number of materials that would either have been altogether inaccessible or would have had to be read by human readers, a process that is naturally prone to errors, especially when the reader does not have sufficient training. For students who are blind, I export the Scientific Notebook file to HTML. This exports the text as HTML and the math as MathML. When opened in Internet Explorer with the free program MathPlayer installed, Jaws automatically calls to MathPlayer when it encounters MathML, enabling it to read the math as clearly and accurately as the text. Students who are blind love using these files because they don't have to rely on a human reader to repeat mathematical expressions over and over - they are as in control of how they read as their sighted peers. One great advantage of this process is that, unlike human readers, Jaws repeats each expression the same way each time. As important is that Scientific Notebook has helped preserve students' dignity of independence. Recently, I became ill right in the middle of some finals week alt format production and was stuck at home without Scientific Notebook. MacKichan customer service immediately issued me a key for the trial version and I was able to produce the exam without issue. Thanks for a great product and for great service. Julie Balassa
Prof. Aurel Marton recently took delivery of Scientific WorkPlace at the University of Pannonia in Hungary, and was particularly impressed with the 3 manuals and the 'Getting Started' booklet included in the full boxed system we supply:

Dear Christopher,The Scientific WorkPlace just has arrived. Thank you very much for sending me the software with the superb documentation and with the Ferrero Rocher delicacies. It is sometimes rather annoying when expensive programs are delivered without the manual and it is left for the customer to print out the 500 page PDF file. Your practice seems to be the quite opposite and is highly appreciated. The training courses seem to be useful but their costs are far beyond our means so I have to cope with the training by myself.I wish to you a peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year! With kindest regards, yours,Aurel
We helped Aysegul Askan with an urgent need to get hold of Scientific Word to meet her PhD thesis deadline. She wrote to us:

Thanks Christopher,
Everything worked out very well. I already bought my permanent license!
Thanks for the wonderful customer service.
Cheers,
Aysegul
Glad we were able to help you get sorted, Aysegul. We sent our free 30-day demo CD to John Bore. He wrote:

Christopher,Thank you for giving me a chance to use your product. I was amazed to see that it performed complex mathematical tasks that I did not even thought it would. Even though my work schedule did not allow me to have enough time to fully utilise it, I was completely satisfied with the product. I am sure I will contact you in near future to have the complete set of your products.Once again, thank you!John.
John gladly gave us permission to put his Email on our web site - thanks John. And Dr Riaz Ahmad of 7city Learning, London Emailed us after his company bought a copy for him:

I recently acquired Scientific Word. This software is the ultimate in maths word processing, and I would not consider anything other than the range of software developed by Mackichan. The superior service provided by Dr Christopher Mabb was super efficient (hypersonic in speed!) and very professional. I received the software together with 2 manuals (which are like gold dust) the next morning. Many thanks.
Our thanks too, to Dr Ahmad for his comments (and for permission to quote him).
